Because this was a small side project that would have a wider audience than usual (parents and family, not just me and the cats), I had to make sure that clear design on both web and iOS would be possible.

I designed the site and app in a day and then spent a couple days building the site that then became the API for the SwiftUI app. This combination of app and website allowed me to quickly iterate based on changes to the upstream API I was using to gather the data. This also meant that I could keep my family up-to-date with the most accurate data without needing to push annoying updates.

In addition to just being able to provide some glanceable info, I also wanted to create a place for trusted resources. I spent a few days creating content guides for the app that would allow my family to get resources faster than I could text them back. When more resources became widely available, I was able to adjust the app to be a guide to the correct resources, while maintaining their known interaction model.
